And the Thunder Rolls ...

storm 12 °C

There's a rumour going around town that there'll be sun tomorrow. That would be brilliant because I'm yet to see it since getting to Maine. Here's hoping that this isn't a rumour that's been conjoured up by the locals to keep us here at little longer.

It's difficult to do anything on rainy days except get wet. So I went out, took a tour around the coast, and yes, got wet. I've taken to wearing flip-flops when I'm out - accepting the peculiar looks from the Americans who no longer only think of me as soundin' funny, but now lookin' funny also - just so I've got dry socks to last me the week. I moved into the hostel this morning and meeting other travellers my age makes a big change to sitting down for homemade pancakes with Uncle Sam at the B&B.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to keep to my plan, and ended up having a doughnut this afternoon - not one from Dunkin' Donuts - but nevertheless I can't help but think this is a start of a downwards trend that ends with my waistline being an inch or two wider. On which note, time to get the trainers out for morning run around the island.

Trivia of the day? Maine's nickname is The Pine Tree State.
